2022 Warrior: Kelsey Thompson
Kelsey has been battling Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Breast Cancer since March 29th, 2021. Kelsey found a lump in her breast and decided to get it checked out. She was told it was nothing to worry about, but Kelsey knew there was something more, so she got a second opinion. It was definitely something to worry about.
Kelsey learned the lump in her breast was Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. Breast Cancer. Kelsey is a single mom to 4 children, so this diagnosis hit extra hard. Since her diagnosis she has gone through chemo, radiation, and several surgeries. Not only has she undergone treatment, but the side effects as well including multiple infections, fluid retention, and shingles. Her friends and family boast about how Kelsey always stays positive and strong in her faith. When she is too tired and wants to rest, she just keeps going. Kelsey is a Registered Nurse, so by nature always wants to take care of others and bring them comfort, so this new journey has her roles slightly reversed. She always has a smile on her face and gives way more meaning to the term WARRIOR.
