2022 Little Warrior: Brantley Lent
On November 3rd, 2021, 5-year-old Brantley was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor on his kidney along with cancer in his lung. Leading up to his diagnosis, Brantley was complaining of stomachaches along with severe bloating of his abdomen. After several months of being told it was likely constipation, Brantley began to feel worse and went to the ER. That’s when any parents’ worst fears were brought to life and Brantley was diagnosed with cancer. Treatment began soon after his diagnosis with 6 weeks of chemotherapy.
On 12/10/21, his doctors determined the mass had shrunk and scheduled him for surgery for the removal of his kidney. On 12/18/21, surgery was completed and 80% of the tumor was dead and the nodules in his lungs were also dead and removed! At this time, Brantley has started radiation and will continue to do chemo and radiation through April of 2022. He has a long road ahead of him, but he continues to fight and is surrounded by so much love during his fight! We believe Brantley is not done yet!
